B2B Referral Insurance Platform

Enabling referrers to purchase policies in batches, legally transfer them to new pet owners, and earn lifetime revenue

Key Outcomes

01

Policy bulk purchase

Referrers can purchase insurance policies in batches — covering multiple animals in a single transaction with free two-month starter policies.

02

Advanced integrations

Seamless integration with Knose's existing policy management, legal compliance workflows, and lifetime revenue share tracking for referrers.

03

Intuitive UI

A self-service portal where referrers can onboard, manage policies, and transfer coverage to new pet owners — with no training required.

The Challenge

Building a compliant B2B insurance channel through referrers

Knose wanted to expand its distribution by enabling a network of referrers to sell pet insurance policies directly to new pet owners at the point of purchase.

This required a self-service portal where referrers could onboard, agree to terms, and purchase policies in batches — for example, covering multiple animals with free two-month starter policies.

The critical complexity was implementing a legally compliant process for transferring insurance policies from the referrer to the new owner, while tracking a guaranteed 5% lifetime revenue share back to the referrer.

No B2B sales channel existed — Knose was limited to direct-to-consumer acquisition only.

Our Approach

Self-service referral portal with legal compliance

The Kipanga B2B Platform Protocol

Kipanga designed a fully self-served B2B platform where referrers could join the program independently, agree to terms digitally, and immediately start purchasing and managing policies.

The policy transfer workflow was built with strict legal compliance — ensuring every transfer from referrer to new pet owner followed a documented, auditable process.

The platform also gives new owners the ability to adjust their level of cover after the transfer, converting free starter policies into paid long-term coverage.

Phase 01

Referrer Onboarding

Self-service registration with digital contract and terms acceptance

Phase 02

Batch Policy Purchase

Interface for buying policies in bulk across multiple animals

Phase 03

Legal Transfer

Compliant policy transfer workflow from referrer to new pet owner

Phase 04

Revenue Tracking

5% lifetime revenue share attribution and tracking per referrer

The Solution

End-to-end B2B referral insurance platform

A serverless platform where referrers self-onboard, purchase policies in batches, and transfer those policies to new pet owners through a legally compliant process.

Every transferred policy is tracked against the originating referrer, guaranteeing them a 5% revenue share for the lifetime of that policy. New owners can adjust their cover level after receiving the transferred policy.

The platform runs on AWS serverless infrastructure with ReactJS on the front end, built and deployed in just one month — now serving over 1,700 referrers and processing approximately 25,000 policies per year.
